About

Anna Meyer is a Portland Native vocalist and entrepreneur with a focus on Musical Theatre, Gospel, Soul and Jazz. She has been performing professionally in Portland since 2014. Since 2014, she has worked with companies such as Stumptown, Staged! pdx, PassinArt, Resonance and is gaining a reputation from various gigs in the jazz and contemporary music scene of Portland.

From a young age, Anna has been enthralled with music. She would often sing at family and friend events, participate in choir performances at school. During Church she would often attempt to harmonize to the hymns. There was never a time where she was not listening or analyzing music. She admired the artistry of theatre and impatiently waited until she was old enough to perform in school musicals.

It wasn’t until junior high that she received her first school solo. At twelve, she sang the first verse of “Dancing in the Street” by Martha and the Vandellas.

Anna explored the world of Musical Theatre and Classical Music and competed in district competitions regularly. Wanting to continue her passion for music professionally, she started her education journey in music in 2017 at Mt. Hood Community College. In the Winter of 2018, she got her debut in New York City performing in a Cabaret at 54 Below with other aspiring musical theatre artists. The following summer she explored the world of jazz and became the vocalist for the top Jazz Combo of her school. Now, in 2020, she has continued her education journey at Portland State University and will complete a bachelor's in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies.

Anna brings a unique, bold and confident sound to the world of rhythm and blues while having a relaxed stage presence.

 

While being easy going and having an excellent work ethic and positive attitude, she is always asking for vocal challenges within each genre she specializes in. With a variety of musical interests, Anna never hesitates to explore other musical genres and keeps an open mind.
